Krista Lord is a contemporary artist and illustrator living and working in southern Maine.
She graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in art and a focus in art history. She majored in printmaking before discovering a passion for watercolor and gouache paints.
Her work is characterized by an intentional and unbridled use of color, and the use of the human form to express ideas. Her work is inspired deeply by myths, fairytales, and history. She draws inspiration from the beauty of Maine’s coasts and forests, places she loves to explore and connect with.
She shows work in local galleries and teaches workshops. When not painting, Krista enjoys gardening, reading, writing, and playing D&D with her family.
